postnatal fitness terMs &
participation policy

1. about our classes

These classes are designed to support women in returning to exercise following pregnancy and childbirth. Classes are suitable for postnatal participants who have received appropriate medical clearance to exercise and who feel ready to participate in light to moderate physical activity.

All classes are led by a qualified postnatal fitness instructor and are conducted in accordance with the instructor's qualifications, experience and insurance cover.

For safety and insurance purposes, classes operate with a maximum participant ratio of 1 instructor to 10 participants.

2. Medical clearance requireMents

Participation in classes is conditional upon obtaining appropriate medical clearance to return to exercise following childbirth.

By booking and attending a class, you confirm that:

  • You have received medical clearance from your GP, consultant, midwife, women's health physiotherapist or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional to return to exercise.

  • If you had a vaginal birth, you are at least six (6) weeks postnatal and have been cleared to exercise.

  • If you had a caesarean section birth, you are at least eight (8) weeks postnatal and have been cleared to exercise.

  • You have disclosed any relevant medical conditions, injuries, symptoms or complications that may affect your ability to participate safely.

You must not attend classes if you have been advised by a healthcare professional not to exercise or if you have concerns regarding your recovery that have not been assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.

3. health screening and ongoing responsibility

Prior to participation, all participants must complete the required health screening and questionnaire honestly and accurately.

You agree to inform the instructor immediately if:

  • Your health status changes.

  • You develop a new medical condition or injury.

  • You become aware of any symptoms that may affect safe participation.

  • You experience pain, dizziness, excessive fatigue, shortness of breath, bleeding, pelvic floor symptoms, abdominal concerns or any other unusual symptoms during or after exercise.

You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to exercise within your own capabilities and to stop exercising if you feel unwell or experience discomfort.

4. nature of the classes

These classes are fitness and exercise sessions only.

They do not constitute:

  • Medical advice;

  • Physiotherapy;

  • Rehabilitation treatment;

  • Diagnosis of any condition; or

  • A substitute for professional healthcare advice.

Any information provided during classes is intended for general educational and fitness purposes only. Participants should seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional regarding any medical concerns.

5. assuMption of Risk

Participation in physical activity involves inherent risks which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Muscle soreness;

  • Strains and sprains;

  • Falls;

  • Aggravation of existing injuries or conditions;

  • Fatigue;

  • Minor injuries associated with physical exercise.

By participating in classes, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks and agree to take responsibility for exercising within your own limits and abilities.

You agree to follow all safety instructions provided by the instructor and to notify the instructor if you are unsure how to perform any exercise safely.

6. baby supervision and responsibility

Mum and baby classes are designed to allow participants to attend with their babies; however, participants remain fully responsible for their child at all times.

By attending classes, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for the care, supervision, wellbeing and safety of your baby throughout the entire session.

  • The instructor does not provide childcare or babysitting services.

  • The instructor is not responsible for supervising babies during classes.

  • You must ensure that your baby is appropriately cared for, supervised and positioned safely at all times.

  • You must immediately attend to your baby if their needs require your attention.

Participation in exercises should always be secondary to the safe supervision of your child.

7. limMitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms and Participation Policy excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Subject to the above, participants attend and participate in classes at their own risk and accept responsibility for ensuring they are medically fit to participate and capable of performing the exercises undertaken.

8. booking and payMent

All classes must be booked in advance through the online booking system.

Payment is required in full at the time of booking to secure your place.

A booking is not confirmed until payment has been successfully received.

9. cancellation and refund policy

All class bookings are non-refundable.

As places are limited and reserved specifically for each participant, refunds will not be provided for:

  • Missed classes;

  • Late arrivals;

  • Illness;

  • Changes in personal circumstances; or

  • Failure to attend for any reason.

Where a class is cancelled by the instructor, participants will be offered either:

  • A transfer to an alternative class where available; or

  • A credit or refund at the instructor's discretion.

The instructor reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes where necessary due to illness, venue issues, safety concerns or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

10. photography and Marketing

Photographs and videos may only be taken and used for promotional or marketing purposes where the participant has provided explicit consent.

Participants may withdraw consent at any time by contacting the instructor in writing.

11. privacy

Personal information collected through the booking and health screening process will be used solely for the purposes of:

  • Managing bookings;

  • Delivering classes safely;

  • Maintaining health and safety records;

  • Communicating important class information; and

  • Complying with legal and insurance requirements.

Information will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

12. acceptance of terMs

By completing a booking, submitting the health screening form and attending a class, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms and Participation Policy.

  • The information you have provided is accurate and complete.

  • You have obtained the required medical clearance to exercise following childbirth.

  • You agree to comply with all instructions provided during classes.

  • You understand and accept the risks associated with participation.

  • You acknowledge that you remain responsible for your baby at all times during the class.

  • You agree to these Terms and Participation Policy.
